Similar to English language, Tamil language also consists of vowels and consonants. There are 12 vowels and 18 consonants in Tamil alphabet.
Here are the list of Tamil vowels, consonants, and numerals-
In Tamil, vowels are known as உயிரெழுத்து (Uyireluttu). There are two types of vowels; dependent vowels and independent vowels. Dependent vowels are always used together with a consonant.
